Would it be possible at all to partially dismantle DS-2’s superlaser and install three of its nodes in, say, the Executor? If so, does it sound plausible that the reactors (which would have to be upgraded, of course) would produce just barely enough juice to fire that thing, leaving the ship unshielded for approximately a minute after discharge?

Honestly, with something as specific and unexplored as this idea, I think you can do whatever you want. As for plausibility, it sounds just fine to me. The only thing is, if you want those three nodes to form a converging beam like they would if combined with the other five, you’re going to need a cone-shaped forcefield in the middle. If not, it should function more or less like a powerful individual laser.

Now, if this is related to your other ask where you talked about getting a hypermatter reactor, I think it’s reasonable that it would barely be able to fire the beams and might have to recharge for a while. The reactor installed on the Death Star is an advanced version of the ones that other ships often have, so I doubt it would be able to produce as much power as the lasers and shields combined would like to take up.

It sounds like you have a very interesting story here. Good luck!

I have a character that gets an unfortunate case of Lightsaber To The Face. Its just a graze, but obviously her face is still fucked. How likely is it that she could keep going for a minute or so after her injury?

I suppose that might depend on whether or not she is Force-sensitive. If so, I find it reasonable that she could get back up and fight for a while. If not, then I guess it would be important to know the extent of the damage. If the graze doesn’t touch the eyes or go through a bone she should be alright to fight through the pain for a bit, even without the Force. If it does… well, in real life it would be unlikely, she’d be in a whole lot of pain from the cauterization and probably freaking out if she can’t see out of one eye. But in Star Wars, people rarely obey the odds, so at the least I would have her take a moment to collect herself.

One more side note: if she doesn’t lose an eye or anything, treatment with bacta might be able to completely heal the wound (or leave a light scar), especially if she can get it quickly.

Happy writing!

Would it be possible for a non Force-sensitive (in my story, a clone trooper) to pick up a lightsaber and use it in a fight? He does have pretty extensive training in vibroblades, but he’s never used a lightsaber before. (Also sidenote – he loses that fight (rather badly, he’s up against an Inquisitor), I just need to be sure that the fight can even take place).

Hmm. I would say yes, on the condition that he loses spectacularly. Vibroblades are a bit shorter than lightsabers, closer to a long knife, so it might be weird for him to suddenly have to use a longer weapon. The other main difference is that lightsabers have no weight except the hilt, which makes them hard for non-Force-sensitives to handle. Not to mention, of course, that Inquisitors carry double-bladed lightsabers. So basically, your clone might be able to fend off a few blows, and maybe even hold his own for a bit, but he’s going to be killed as soon as the Inquisitor starts trying.

Good luck!
